Eagle Rank Is Awarded To Dennison

John Dennison, senior patrol leader of Boy Scout Troop 9, was awarded Eagle Scout rank Thursday at a Court of Honor held at the Chapel of the Cross. He received the award from his grandfather, Frank Bailey, a former Eagle Scout who has been active in adult scouting for more than 40.years.

Others advancing in rank were Jeff Coke and Joe Reckford, to Life; Philippe Creech to Star; Jim DeLuca, Steve Herring, Bill Hill, Mark Leinfelder and Mike Walston to First Class; and Sam Reckford to Tenderfoot.

Leaders taking part in the ceremony, in addition to Bailey, were Jim Coke scoutmaster, and Walt Cheever, Moe Walston and Fred DeFriess.

During the evening the scouts narrated a slide presentation of their trip to Linville Gorge and an eight-day wilderness hiking trip in the Great Smokey Mountains last summer.
