Troop 9 has a new assistant scoutmaster, Scott Patterson and John Dennison has returned to the troop as Junior assistant scoutmaster, Welcome to both young men to the Troop 9 staff.
Three scouts have been chosen to attend the District Leader Development Course at Camp Durant in March. Those attending are Joe Reckford, Mike Walston, and John Dennison.
The troop charter will be renewed in March with Dr. Karl Leinfelder as your new Troop Committee Chairman. We ask your continued support for Karl - who has amply demonstrated his capabilities this past year as Advancement Chairman.
Watch for the final details of the barbecue and bake sale in the March Newsletter. The proceeds will be used to purchase the much needed tents which will cost approximately $700.00. Our present budget is $425.00 with expenditures for February/March expected to be about $160.00 for charter renewal and the cost of the Leadership Development Course. Your full cooperation will be needed to make these events a success. Other fund raising projects ar planned for the ensuing year,

Unlike a year ago - we are now a busy and active troop. The flustrations
of organizing a working committee, searching for a scoutmaster and working
with Jim Coke and his overwhelming responsibilities are over. An exciting,
rewarding program is underway - and we wish to thank you for your faithful
support that has made the committee proud to represent you on behalf of
your son. We urge that you continue your support to the new committee,
the scout staff and especially to your growing son -the scout.
