CANOE TRIPS--Late Summer-Dates to be announced:
A troop outing, 5 days of canoeing down the Roanoke River. Cost will be around $25.00. In order to attend, each boy must complete the canoeing instruction the troop will have, pass the 1st class swimming requirement, and have advanced one rank since September, 1968.
To insure that all members of the Troop stay on an active status, the Patrol Leaders' Council has determined that any boy who misses more than three Troop activities without an excuse, will meet with the Committee to determine his interest in staying with the Troop.
Please encourage your son's attendance, but if he cannot attend a function for whatever reason, have him contact his Patrol Leader.
Also Mr. Perez-Reyes took the Jaguar Patrol for a 50 mile hike on the Appalachian Trail over the Thanksgiving vacation. Despite the blisters, they had a good time.
Congratulations to Dale Everts for his Eagle Award in December. At present, he is the only Eagle in the Troop.
The Rattlesnake Patrol won the Honor Patrol Award last week. The Jaguar
Patrol won it twice in a row, but couldn't manage to earn it the third
time to keep it permanently.
