November 11, 2003
In attendance: Wendy Painter, George Painter,
Jimmy Workman, Suzanne Hough, Dave Scocca, Alfred Avery, Lisa
Ripperton, Gayle Risk, John Risk, Tom Hock, Dave Filpus, James Baley
Prior month minutes: The October 2003 minutes are posted on the
web. If you have any changes, please let Dave Filpus know as we do want
these notes to be as accurate as possible.
Treasurer’s report: We have a current balance of
$3,910.79. One boy still has dues outstanding and it will be collected
shortly.
Patrol trips: Tom Hock reported on the upcoming trip to Shenandoah
National Park in Virginia. It is scheduled to take place Nov. 15th
-16th and will have three adults and six boys in attendance.
The backpack length is approximately six miles and the temperature
could vary greatly, so layers are encouraged.
Uniforms: Uniforms have been purchased for troop inventory.
Merit badges:
Citizenship in the Nation: The boys need to talk to Luke about
signing off on the merit badge. As of this point, only one boy has done
so. The suggestion was put forward to tour the USDA facility (Revere
St. in Hillsborough) to complete the government facility requirement.
The facility offers tours and information regarding soil conservation
programs.
Cooking: The merit badge training is in progress.
Recruiting: Tom Hock will try to recruit at Waldorf School since
it was successful when Mr. Ripperton went a few years ago.
Eagle Court of Honor: Joe will have his court of honor at 2 pm on
Nov. 22nd.
Pending Business:
New Business: Jesse resigned as Senior Patrol Leader, effective
this evening. He has decided to pursue a Sea Scout troop, but plans to
continue with Troop 9 to earn his Eagle.
The December Parent Meeting is canceled. The next Parent Meeting will
take place on January 13th, 2004.
