Troop 9 Committee Meeting 2/17/2009

We were introduced to our new Troop Chaplain, Ralph Smith. Ralph has two grown sons who were both Eagle Scouts.

We need the following roles filled on the Troop 9 Parent Committee:

Training Coordinator

Advancement Coordinator

Membership Coordinator

Treasurer’s Report: Balance = $3341.24

It was decided that Andrew Pate would back up Lisa Ripperton as Treasurer.

Outdoor Activities:

Petersburg Deep Freeze January 17^th through 19^th was well attended. Activities included participating in a battle reenactment, exploring a civil war museum, working on a battle ground service project. It was truly a deep freeze as temperatures dropped as low as 7 degrees Fahrenheit.

Next Trip: Fort Bragg February 27^th through March 1^st. Fort Bragg cost will be $30 per boy plus gas.

Other events:

Webelos Day Hikes January 31^st (16 Webelos!) and February 14^th (8 Webelos).

Court of Honor February 10^th

We have 3 new scouts joining today from the Webelos Day Hikes.

New Business:

It is difficult for the uniformed leaders to come to the parent meeting when the meeting occurs during the boys meeting on Tuesday evening. The uniformed leaders would like to move the meeting to a time different from the Tuesday evening boys’ meetings. Meeting will be moved to the second Monday of the month starting in March.

Next meeting Monday March 9^th at 7:00 PM.

Parent Committee positions will require re-election in April.
