Troop 9 Parents Meeting

9/9/2008

Minutes

  1. Scout Master Report (Gregg Gerdau)
    1. The boys had an active summer including going to summer camp and earning a combined 45 merit badges
    2. There is a need for more equipment as the Troop has increased in size and we need supplies for a third patrol. There is also repair of old equipment needed. The Scout Master estimated these costs at $1200.
  2. Budget
    1. Given The Scout MasterŐs request for capital funds above, we are probably short $300 to $500 in this yearŐs budget.
    2. We also need to make plans for accumulating money for capital improvements in the future
    3. Per boy dues set at $120 per year
    4. Boys or families that need relief from dues for reasons of financial hardship should request this from the Chairman of the Parents Committee (Please insert name and contact information here)
    5. We will add the cost of gas money to camping trips in the future. This way, parents who drive will be easily reimbursed by the Troop for gas money. Gas money that is not claimed will be turned over to meet our short fall and add to capital improvements for the future.
    6. There will be no fund raiser this year.
  3. District Round Table
    1. Bill Stonecypher has volunteered to make sure that Troop 9 is represented at District Round Tables this scouting year
  4. Troop release of information waiver
    1. The Troop release of information waiver, including release of the scoutŐs likeness, is being updated to move the language for the release above the area for parental signature.
  5. Troopmaster Software
    1. Software to help the boys keep track of Advancement and other scouting essentials
    2. Evaluated by Cathy Stonecypher
