7:10 p.m.: meeting called to order by Dave Scocca.
Dave Scocca will take over website on longer term basis due to Mr. Filpus’ health.
Last month’s minutes are on the troop website. Motion to approve was passed unanimously.
Report from Lisa Ripperton---The troop currently has a balance of $848.35. More dues are anticipated. Mr. Gerdau will send email reminders as needed.
Three drivers requested mileage reimbursement for the South Mountain trip. $15 for campsite fee owed to Wayne V.
Fundraising was discussed---Popcorn sales pros and cons were debated, as were fundraising policy issues and dues. Lisa R. stated she would prefer paying for trips rather than fundraising. Brian H. said he could go either way; stated he has fond memories of Krispy Kreme sales.
Gregg G. stated he would be more in favor of fundraising for summer camp.
Dave S. stated that pre-trip budgets need to be posted. Gregg G. proposed a trip by trip budget and one spring fundraiser for summer camp.
Corporate donations were discussed. Committee members/parents were asked to inquire about matching donations at their places of employment.
Gregg G. reported on the South Mountain trip. 16 people attended. Many skills were worked on. All in all it was a good trip, despite never making it to see the trees planted by the troop in the past.
Upcoming trips: Two nights camping at Beartree Campground near Damascus, Virginia, to ride the Virginia Creeper trail. $16 per campsite. $10 for bike shuttle. A five car trip. Cost will be about $30 per person.
November: Wilson Creek. Three nights. Hiking.
December: Eno River. Two nights. Recruiting event.
Brian Harry has assumed the Membership Chair position. Looking for Committee Chair.
Lost two scouts: Mark Mullen and Mark Filpus.
Gregg G. reported that he has a huge Eagle Scout service project, and will approach Life Scouts to discuss.
Ben Hock is currently working on his Eagle project.
