*Committee Action Summary*
John Risk made a motion to increase dues to $90 and starting on August rotation.  Lisa Ripperton seconded.  Motion passed.

Meeting started at 7:25.

We had introductions. Ken Mullen is joining us this week.  Ken's son is Mark and Nathan is also here tonight.  Will Pelletier is undecided at present time.

The Clemens family has decided to leave the troop and join a troop in Durham

Trips and Activities - Gregg Gerdau

  1. Successful caving trip with 10 scouts and adult leaders.  Lake James also very nice and worth revisiting.  Boys really enjoyed this trip.
  2. Skipped Merchant Mill pond trip.
  3. Had 1st PLC with new leaders.
  4. Camporee on the 27th-  Ben will be the PL for the cooking contest.  T9 is handling Scout's Own service Sunday.  This needs to be approved by district and is worth 100 points.  We also need to sign up for a midway exhibition and campfire activities for additional points.
  5. Working  on cooking Merit Badge.
  6. Saturday meeting at Eastwood Lake for cooking preparation outing.
Tuesday - Meeting at Phillips Middle School because the church rooms are going to be filled with ABC sale stuff.

Next Month
  1. Marsha Pate will help with training, covering {youth protection, a time to tell, and merit badge counselor}.
  2. Bike trip to outer banks planned.  John Risk notes that this has been combined with court of honor historically.  Dave Scocca points out that there could be potential traffic problems on Memorial day.  Lisa Ripperton suggests VA creeper trail as an alternative.  Ken Mullen can provide some contact info regarding VA creeper trail.  Gregg Gerdau will bring up issues at PLC.
Summer Camp - got confirmation from Camp Bonner.  We have four adult leaders.

Treasurer report - balance of $1710.46

Dave Filpus raises issue of increasing dues for next fall.  Looks like continuing expenses are more than income.  Generally, fees have gone up.  Recruiting expenditures are high.  Discussion on the proposed fee.  John Risk makes a motion to raise dues to $90 starting in August time frame.  Seconded by Lisa.  Motion passes.

John Risk discusses ABC Sale (Apr 21).  Proceeds are gifted to committee charities.  Uses entire church facilities for one week.  Provides service hours for scouts.  John Risk controls parking lot and older scouts work at front of lot.  Dave Filpus takes over for cleanup assistance in the afternoon.  Younger boys will work with Dave.  Scouts should wear uniforms.
