Greg Gerdau presenting Friends of Scouting (council financial support)

Dave Filpus read letter from former T9 Eagle Scout John Bagby. John is asking whether T9 will be doing anything special for  scouting's 100th anniversary and requests that he would like to be remembered as a T9 Eagle Scout.  T9 would like to reply back to John to see if we could get additional history or memorabilia. Gregg volunteered to work with the T9 scribe in order to craft  an appropriate reply.

Treasurer Report

$2125.01 balance now where recent expenses were for troop rechartering and patrol boxes.  Discussion about raising dues was briefly revisited. Requests for projected capital expenses and concern about whether presently spending more per boy than taking in.  Possible expenses:  (1) more patrol box.  Maintenance of patrol box should just be consumable replacement and should use trip meal funds.  Expenses expected for camporee.  Remainder of  troop dues discussion is tabled.

Centennial Award

Quality unit award ended last year.  A new award is the centennial award.  This award is prospective; ie. Troop will make commitments for certain categories  designed to help the troop improve.  Figures are adjusted specifically for each  troop/pack, then are monitored.  Needs to be filed by mid-March.  Greg Gerdau wants to ask permission to make suggestions in order to meet deadline, then will bring results to committee. Trish states that the committee can vote by email.  Greg Gerdau will be working troop numbers with Mark Hannah (the District Commissioner). This award spans 3 years.  There were various examples discussed covering leadership, training, youth protection, recruiting, retaining, etc.

Merit Badge Counselor Training

Greg Gerdau can do this.  Trish and Mark have  submitted forms to be Merit Badge Counselor, but have not scheduled training?  Needs to be scheduled.

Troop OA elections

Dave Filpus will need to manage.

Committee personnel needs:
  1. Recruit Membership Chair - Recharter and Recruiting
  2. Advancement - Handle paperwork
