In Attendance:
Dave Filpus, Tom Hock, Lisa Ripperton, John Risk, Wendy Painter, Deb
Miles, Wayne Vanderburg, Mike Miles, Andrew Turnier, Trisha Clemens,
Dave Scocca
Meeting called to order by Dave Filpus.
Item: Dave Filpus welcomed our new scout and new committee member.
Item: Dave Filpus continues to search for a new website
location. Approval was given to move to a more expensive, more
reliable website.
Item: Minutes from previous meeting were accepted.
Item: Treasurer's report (Lisa Ripperton) Current balance is $4,241.73.
Item: Final logistics were discussed for the trip to Wilson
Creek. It appears that everyone can fit into one van, simplifying
transportation.
Item: The December hiking trip to Uwharrie is scheduled for
December 10, 11 (Saturday and Sunday). Current plans are to use
the main trail from south to north.
Item: Uniforms. Patrol patches were handed out.
Item: The National Scout Store now has an online store.
There is a pointer to this site on our web page. Everyone is
encouraged to use this site when possible but the uniform closet will
still be maintained. Mention was made that Ebay has a section for
scout items including clothing.
Item: Roundtable. Recharter packages should be on their
way--Dave Scocca will look into this and into getting the proper
Charter Organization signatures. Wayne has a conflict now with
attending the roundtable meetings. We need someone to start doing
this. All committee members are encouraged to attend the
roundtable meetings.
Item: Recruiting. Website seems to be a great tool for
recruitment. Will continue to maintain and enhance
this. Plans continue for a family movie night in
mid-January. Date set for Jan 17, 2006 with scouts needing BOR
being pulled. Mike Miles and Wayne Vanderburg are organizing this
with assistance from the scouts. Dave Scocca will put a notice in
the church bulletin. Drinks and popcorn will be provided as well
as a handout about Troop 9. The meeting should begin at 6:50 pm
with the movie starting promptly at 7 pm.
Item: Weekly programs. The scouts are currently working to
complete the last two requirements for their Pioneering MB and are
beginning the requirements for Forestry. (Luke will be back to
finish Pioneering.) Options were discussed to help those scouts
needing swimming for advancement.
The meeting was adjourned.
