Parent’s Committee Meeting
Minutes
Tuesday, January 13, 2004
In attendance: Wendy Painter,
George Painter, Dave Scocca, Alfred Avery, Lisa Ripperton, John
Risk, Tom Hock, Dave Filpus, Luke Cathell, Nancy Barber
Prior month minutes: The November 2003 minutes were reviewed and
approved. All prior minutes are posted on the web site. If you have any
changes, please let Dave Filpus know as we do want these notes to be as
accurate as possible.
Treasurer’s report: We have a current balance of
$4.746.51.
Patrol trips: January 16th – 19th
Grandfather Mountain. Two adults and five boys are planning on
attending. The temps are expected to be in the 20s at night and the 40s
during the day so layers are encouraged. Optional plans if the weather
is poor – Uwharrie National Forest but currently rain is predicted all
weekend long or perhaps the Pinnacles on the Blue Ridge Parkway in
Virginia. Expect al e-mail Friday morning.
February has another 3 day trip scheduled. If the Grandfather Mountain
trip needs to be rescheduled, this is a possibility.
Uniforms: Uniforms have been purchased for troop inventory. Let
Sarah know if you need anything.
Merit badges:
Citizenship in the Nation: There are several he boys who still
need to talk to Luke about signing off on the merit badge.
Optional merit badges to consider for the next several weeks –
Citizenship in the World. During March/April perhaps we’ll complete a
nature oriented badge
Board of Review next week for any scouts advancing.
Court of Honor is in two weeks.
March 20th – ABC sale at the church
Recruiting: February 10th we’ll encourage rising
scouts to visit the troop meeting. Several webelos leaders have been
contacted. A slide show during the ABC sale may be considered. Approval
from the church will be needed.
Annual Report: The report is due to the Parish by the end of the
week. Dave Scocca intends to complete the report based on the current
calendar.
New Business: Web site front page – consider pictures from the
brochure with links to the existing web site.
The next Parent Meeting will take place on February 10th, 2004.
