Parent's Committee Meeting
Minutes
April 8, 2003

Treasurer's report
- a current balance of $3,281.64.
Awards - Greg
Filpus was presented with a gold bolo - representing his participation
in at least 50 nights of camping.
Trips/Meetings -

Prior merit badges - Bird Study
- with the Painter's help,
the scouts stayed on task and completed the merit badge. Four
scouts from our troop participated and two other scouts joined us for the
day. Everyone seemed to have
a very good time.

Prior service project - ABC sale
- March 29th
- Thanks to John Risk and all of the volunteers that helped. The
church appreciated our assistance overseeing the parking lot. The
day went well.
Merit Badge College -
Saturday April 12 - please, contact the appropriate counselor if a scout
would like to participate. The
original flyer is attached to the end of these minutes.

Swim Test -
April 21st 7 pm at the Hillsborough Sportsplex. Any
scout attending a summer camp is encouraged to complete the swim test prior
to going to camp. The cost
is $1 per scout. If you can't
attend now, the testing can be completed at the summer camp.

Spring Camporee
- April 25-27 at Camp Cherokee in Yanceyville. The
troop will meet at 5:30 on Friday evening at Chapel of the Cross.
A
cost of $12 per registered scout and $5 per non registered scout will be
covered by the troop - an estimated cost of $200 will be incurred.Please
let us know if you can join the troop for the Camporee.

Bike Trip - May
24 - 26. The bike route
is still being planned but our destination will be John Risk's home. Tentative
plans are for a Court of Honor to be held Saturday evening. Families
are encouraged to join the troop for a day of fun.

Summer Camp - June
22 - 28. Eight boys plan
to participate at this time.
For
the safety of everyone, we should have two adults at the camp.Please
contact John Risk if you are can help.
A
reminder - summer camp does ask that the scouts wear full uniforms at evening
meals.Our efforts to present our
scouts at their best will be noticed.Let
us know if your scout needs help with his uniform.

event and have fun earning a badge with other scouts.
