Clothes should accommodate anticipated weather. Assume a minimum range of 20 - 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Think wet !

Fabric recommendations:

For Car Camping, more latitude in fabric is allowable. However, we do camp in cold and/or wet weather. It is best to follow the guidelines in NO COTTON.

Spare Clothes

Also, pack a full set of clothes including underwear, socks, shoes, coat, etc. ( really everything), and a towel in a separate bag to leave in the car. Then when you come back to the car drenched, you can get dry and moderately comfortable for the drive home. This counts for a lot on drives of more than ten seconds.
