This trip is an overnight camping trip in a cavern run by The Lost Sea - Wild Tour Adventure.

Personal Equipment

The Troop's Caving Checklist should be followed EXCEPT - DO NOT BRING CANDLES OR MATCHES.  What else to consider:
  1.  A good book or two.  Recommended - we'll be in the cars for about 8 hours each way.
  2. Personal Electronics are OK on the trip, but not in the cave. Recommended.  But you must have headphones - required.
  3. Wear clothes you don't mind having dirt permanently ground into. Think coveralls.
  4. Complete change of clothes, including shoes, socks and underwear, packed in a large trash bag.  To be left in the cars until we exit the cave. Required.
  5. A clean pair of socks to change into before going to sleep. Recommended.
  6. Sleeping bag. Required.
  7. Ground pad.  Required.
  8. Day pack.  You'll need it - everything must be taken into the cave in one trip.
  9. Handy wipes.  A lot of them. You'll need them.
  10. 2 quarts of water (no water available in the cave).  Required.
  11. Helmet (bike, skateboard, baseball, construction hard hat).  Required.
  12. Work gloves (ones you don't mind throwing away after the trip).Required.
  13. A bandana or hat - recommended.
  14. A light jacket or sweatshirt to wear when we are at the campsite. Recommended.  It may get permanently dirty.
  15. 2 flashlights, with fresh batteries installed. Required.
  16. Extra fresh batteries for the two flashlights. Recommended.
  17. A headlight, preferably with a RED lens cover, with fresh batteries installed.  Required.
  18. Extra fresh batteries for your headlight.  Recommended.
  19. Sturdy shoes or boots...think day hike.  These will become very dirty and may not clean up afterwards.  Required.
  20. Money for snacks, etc., when we stop on the highway.  You know...junkfood.
  21. Your Scout Handbook.  If you want to review any advancement requirements for sign-off.

Food

Cost

There is a fee of $60 per person for the trip. This covers meals, entry to the cave and a patch, and gas.
