Committee meeting October 10th 1988 indicated the return of "scout bucks"
as an incentive program. This had been used successfully the year before
(1987-1988). (an interesting note: I have read about scout buck recently
(year 2001) in council news. I guess they somehow heard of Troop 9's old
program.) (The Troop "scout buck" program died after 88-89). Eagle Scout
ceremony for Aric Herndon & Yan Herndon, September 24th 1994.

In a letter dated Sept. 26th, 1996, Bob Chase the Senior Warden informs
us that we are to lose 2 of our 4 patrol rooms to accommodate administrative
needs, and storage space, and indicated that this could be reviewed in
the future. Permission to use the phone in the room closest to the stage
was granted, as a compromise.
-
In a letter dated Dec 11th, 1996 Janet Turchi, Senior Warden, Turned down
a request to establish a reserve fund for special Boy Scout needs. This
was to have been named after Henry Haslach, a recently departed parishioner
who took special interest in troop 9. The church indicated that they researched
other Troops and found that those Troops administered their own funds independently
of the charter organization. "Accordingly we encourage you to move ahead
in this direction, which will still benefit Troop 9 without unnecessarily
complicating the parish books." The church returned personal checks donated
to the fund to John Risk, and Sankey Blanton. No alternate memorial was
pursued by the church. Boy Scout Troop 9 operates without reporting financial
matters to the church.
