The travel itinerary for the
Northern Tier trip is as follows:
1. Leave RDU on July 5
and fly non-stop to Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport
Depart:
1:30 pm EST Northwest Airlines 1277
Arrive: 3:18 pm CST
a. Everyone must be at RDU at 11:30 am, 2 hours before
the flight.
b. We have been told by Northwest Airlines that we may be
asked to produce a note from each boy stating that they have permission to
travel with us.
c. Although not strictly required, it would be advisable
for each boy to carry a picture ID.

Pick up rental car(s) at
Minneapolis/St. Paul airport and drive to Virginia, Minnesota where we will
spend
the night at the Aurora Pines Motel, phone number 218-229-3377. I will provide a map showing the
driving route at the Tuesday night meeting.
This
is approximately a four-hour drive.
Each room at the motel will accommodate 1 adult and three boys.
3.
After an early breakfast
on July 6th we will drive to Ely, an approximately 1.5
hour
drive. I have been advised that
the driving time can be variable owing to a high volume of vacationers, and
therefore it is best to leave plenty of time.
4.
On July 13th,
we will drive from Ely back to MSP and depart for RDU.
